Today I attended a church ministry meeting and learned about the miracle of how prayer can lead Jesus to heal us. How amazed I was to learn that there are people who pray for anyone that is sick, healing, going through a tough time and in need of help in some way. Most of the time, they never meet those of whom they pray for!
In the beginning of the podcast, unbeknownst to me, I was on a journey to find out why some people were able to overcome illnesses, trauma and heal from accidents and then go on the flourish.
It didn’t take long to realize that the majority of them had faith!! They believe in God and felt there was something to take from their devastating situation to use for good. Many went on to help others and their faith played a big part in their healing.
John Ramstead was riding a horse that threw him off into a fence and nearly took his life. What God said is “All things work together for good for those that love the lord. I am going to heal you and use this for all my glory. The lord giveth the lord taketh away, blessed be the name of the lord.”.
John was only able to work about 25 hours a week after, but found Essentialism, and learned how to find the core of what he was called to do and focus his energy on that. He and his partner Steve started a faith-based business podcast that has touched many people and made a difference in their lives. It is on top of my playlist!!
Reverand Ray Rose was on the show as he survived a stroke. I had the privilege of being on his show twice and this was my first introduction to prayer for illness. Ray is an amazing prayer and very connected to God. He has a great facebook group and is praying for others all the time.
Through the prayers from Ray, my church family and others I don’t even know, that have let me know they are praying, I have seen miracles myself. At first, I really struggled with my own feelings of worthlessness and didn’t feel I deserved prayer. If you feel this way it is so important you know that you should share those feelings with someone right away.
The longer we allow the feelings of worthlessness to grow the larger they become. It seems to me there is a link between illness and feelings of guilt and unworthiness. I felt that the illness was my fault at first and tried to get through it all alone.
Once I realized it was beyond my control I began to share, reach out to others for help and accept their prayers and love. At first, it felt foreign to me but after a while, it felt amazing. This is the first time I really experienced Gods’ love and I want everyone to feel it so badly that I feel as if I could stand on the rooftop screaming to everyone, “Jesus loves you, God loves you”!!!!
What Is It Like To Receive Prayer?
The most amazing experience I had was when a group of people stood around me and placed their hands near my heart. At the time I had undiagnosed angina and suffered from daily chest pain.
The pastor prayed something like this, “Dear Lord, we ask that you heal Gina’s’ heart. May she receive your healing, lift her up and let her receive your grace. Use her for your glory, in Jesus name, Amen”.
I don’t remember the words as much as the feeling. I felt so loved, cared for, serene and peaceful all at once. The amazing part, not too long later I found a cardiologist that found out my condition was Vvasospastic angina and told me my heart is healed 100% it is the vessels around my heart that are causing the pains.
Once I am on the correct dose of medication, I can expect to live a normal life and there is a possibility it could go into remission and some people never experience symptoms again.
That was sure amazing and there are so many stories like that I have heard since I began my journey. So if you are troubled with anything that feels larger than you can handle just lay it at the feet of Jesus.
If you want to take him in your heart, you can ask, “Jesus, I have sinned and ask your forgiveness, please come in my heart and give me eternal life. Please heal me and use me to help others in your honor. Amen”.
I would be honored to pray for you, If you would like me to pray for you please send me an email and if you would like a phone call back just let me know. I can take your prayers to a network of loving Christians if you feel like that would help and we can all pray for you. It is said that nothing is too big for God to handle and my desire for you is that you never feel alone.
If you want to know more about God, Jesus, The Holy Spirit or church life you can go to a church and speak with the pastor, go to the hospital and speak to the Chaplain as well as get in touch with some of the guests that were on the show in the past. I will link the interviews below.
